Our journey into the world of goat milk soap began with a love for goats and a desire for a better alternative to commercial soaps. After using goat milk soap for a few years, we knew it was superior, but we felt there was still something missing. That’s when we took classes, conducted extensive research, and embarked on a lot of self-testing.
The result? Our very own luxuriously moisturizing goat milk soap recipe exceeded all our expectations. It was a true “Ah-Ha” moment when I lay in bed and realized my legs had never been so soft and silky, even without applying lotion. We had achieved our goal and were overjoyed with the results.

1.) Why should I spend more on handcrafted soap?
Our intention is not to talk negatively about commercially made soap, so we’ll tell you the benefits of Ledgeway Farm’s handcrafted soap and you can compare. Our ingredients are hand selected to not only clean, but to nourish, moisturize, and feed your skin naturally. No harsh chemicals and no itchy skin. Also commercially made bars of soap are about 4oz in size, ours bars are 6.5oz of all-natural, skin-loving goodness.
2.) Why do you recommend Goat Milk Soap over Water Based Soap?
Goat Milk is packed with vitamins and minerals that are great for your skin, and effective in helping with skin conditions such as Acne, Rosacea, Eczema, Psoriasis, and dry skin. Once you’ve used goat milk soap, you’ll never go back!
3.) Does Goat Milk Soap have a shelf life?
No. We use the age-old Cold Process Method of making soap, which goes through a saponification process. The vitamins and minerals in the soap stay intact through this process and the milk will not go bad. As a matter of fact, the older it is the better it is. As it ages the bar will become harder and last longer. Bars over a year old may lose their scent but are still perfectly good to use for years.
4.) Are your products safe to use on babies and young children?
Yes. our products are made with farm-fresh goat milk, high-quality base oils, and pure therapeutic-grade essential oils. There is nothing in them that would harm babies and children. Be careful not to get the soap in their eyes, it won’t harm their eyes but it will sting.
5.) Do you use Palm Oil in your products?
No. We use only sustainable, responsibly sourced base oils in all of our recipes, and we do not believe Palm Oil is sustainable or responsibly sourced.

The short story is – we wanted more out of our soap. We were buying goat milk soap, and it was good – but not GREAT – and we wanted GREAT! (and more moisturizing)! So we did a boatload of research, did a ton of test batches, and created a wonderfully moisturizing goat milk soap that we loved – and we still love – and we think you will too!
